8, 2008Elant at Goshen to Host Health and Wellness Fair GOSHEN, N.Y. – The Elant at Goshen Adult Home will host a health and wellness fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 26 in the facility’s outdoor courtyard, located at 46 Harriman Drive, Goshen. The event is free and open to the public. The fair will feature demonstrations of the Asian arts of yoga, reiki and qi-gong, the ancient Chinese science of art and healing that has been used since 3000 B.C. to rebalance energy, rejuvenate the body and heal emotional and spiritual issues. An assortment of healthy refreshments also will be served at the fair, and entertainment will be provided by singer Frankie Keane. |

16, 2008Elant Kids Celebrate ‘Moving Up Day’ GOSHEN, N.Y. – The Elant Kids child care center recently held its annual Moving Up Day celebration for the 14 members of the Robins group (4- and 5-year-olds) who are graduating and moving on to Kindergarten next year. This year’s graduates were: Christina Angelo, Dylan Beresnoy, Aidan Bridges, Darryl Connaughton, Caroline DeClerck, Collins Depuy, Brendan Donovan, Madeline Duran, Nina Gawronski, Cassidy Miller, Nicholas Scala, Lexi Siracusa, Matthew Tyrrell and Caroline VanOrden. |

22, 2008McQuade Students Make Dreams Come True for Elant Seniors NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Students from McQuade Children's Services in New Windsor are making dreams come true for nursing home residents at Elant at Newburgh. Through a partnership with the Twilight Wish Foundation, students from the McQuade school have granted at least 10 wishes to the seniors who reside at the nursing facility, including the opportunity for one resident to take a two-hour limousine ride to West Point. |

Thomas is responsible for the oversight of Elant’s home care division that includes the system’s managed long-term care plan, long-term home health plan, licensed home care, foster family and companion programs. |

5, 2008Elant to Host Open House for New Spa Program (GOSHEN, N.Y.) – Elant will launch its new therapeutic spa program with open house events from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 28 at all Elant campuses in Orange, Dutchess and Westchester counties. The events are free and open to the public, and will feature aromatherapy, mini-massage and other spa treatments. Called CALM, for comfort and life memories, the spa program employs aromatherapy, sensory stimulation and massage to help improve the cognitive abilities of elderly residents, as well as increase the overall well-being of those who receive CALM treatments. |

Cornell, an entrepreneur and member of the Elant Board of Directors, and Werner, a prominent attorney and former town justice, will receive the Elant Flame of Excellence Award for their decades of inspired leadership and dedication to improving the lives of others. Gould will be honored with the Elant Signature Award for her commitment to enhancing health care and housing for the elderly through philanthropy, vision and communication. |

May 1, 2008 Lanza Appointed VP and CFO of Elant System (GOSHEN, N.Y.) – Nicholas J. Lanza was recently appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the not-for-profit Elant, Inc. long-term care system. Lanza’s responsibilities include building and enhancing the financial operations of the senior health and housing organizations that comprise Elant. He will oversee budgeting, modeling and forecasting, revenue and product line management, operational efficiency, information services and financial reporting to the board of directors. |

Glen Arden Showcases Students’ Art Work (GOSHEN, N.Y.) -- More than 50 residents, staff and members of the community gathered recently at the Glen Arden Health Care Center to attend an art opening that featured the creative work of three local high school students. Rachael Bailey, Melissa Sciorra and Kaitlyn Snitchler, all students at S.S. Seward Institute in Florida, volunteered their time to paint panels that now decorate a corridor in the health care center. |

The not-for-profit Elant Foundation will hold its inaugural Elant Golf Open July 17 at the Dutchess Golf and Country Club in Poughkeepsie. The outing is open to the public and will feature special guest, James Patterson, America’s No. 1 best-selling author. Patterson sold more than 15.8 million books in 2007 alone and has more than 150 million books in print worldwide. |
