GOSHEN, N.Y. – Katherine B. Thomas was recently appointed vice president of community health services for the not-for-profit Elant, Inc. long-term care network.
Thomas is responsible for the oversight of Elant’s home care division that includes the system’s managed long-term care plan, long-term home health plan, licensed home care, foster family and companion programs.
She has decades of clinical and operational experience in the health care field. Prior to joining Elant, Thomas served as both vice president and chief nursing officer, and vice president of patient care services, at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. In that role, Thomas was responsible for financial oversight and planning of the nursing division and she was one of three key administrators responsible for restructuring the 164-bed hospital.
Thomas previously worked as an assistant professor of nursing at Sullivan County Community College and as a health care consultant for the Warwick Valley School District. She has also held several nursing positions.

Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in nursing with a concentration in health care management and finance from the University of Phoenix.
