Elant to Host Appreciation Breakfast
State-of-the-Art Rehabilitation Equipment to Debut
(Newburgh, N.Y.) – Elant, Inc. will honor New York State Senator William J. Larkin, Jr. and Empire State Bank President Anthony Costa at a March 23 appreciation breakfast to recognize their generous support of the Renewing Elant at Newburgh campaign.
The breakfast, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor, will also showcase a unique piece of equipment known as a car simulator that helps patients undergoing rehabilitation to regain the ability to get in and out of vehicles. The Elant at Newburgh nursing home is the only facility in the region utilizing this state-of-the-art device in its rehabilitation program.
Renewing Elant at Newburgh is an ongoing community effort to revitalize the Elant at Newburgh nursing home campus through a series of capital improvements and equipment purchases. Community volunteers are enthusiastically committed to raising funds and awareness about the program, which has resulted in the renovation of common areas, the front lobby, resident rooms and purchase of electric beds so far.
Larkin and Costa both played key roles in this effort, helping to deliver funds that made some of the improvements possible.
“Thanks to the unwavering support of Senator Larkin and Mr. Costa, we have been able
to begin a process that will vastly improve the quality of life at our campus,” said
Donna Cornell, a member of the Elant, Inc. board of directors and chair of the Renewing
Elant at Newburgh committee. “It is an honor to recognize these individuals for their
contributions to this renewal process.”
Future plans include reconstruction of the home’s front courtyard, dementia unit
renovations, spa-like bathing rooms, resident room renovations and the purchase of
additional electric beds for residents.
The breakfast is free and open to the public with advance reservations thanks to a generous sponsorship by Jim and Eileen Taylor. To reserve a seat at the breakfast, or for more information, contact Jennifer Riccardi at (845) 291-3836.
